Visit virtually
We know that not all of our supporters can visit Heal Somerset in person - but that doesn’t mean you can’t experience the land.

Thanks to the brilliant team at Stitch Surveying, we now have an interactive digital map that brings our site to life wherever you are.

Stitch Surveying have also generously donated some sweeping drone footage, showcasing our land from above. This beautifully positions the site within the wider landscape, allowing virtual visitors to immerse themselves in the undulating hills and patchwork of fields found in this pocket of Somerset.

Drone footage
This cinematic drone footage of the land was filmed in April 2025. It offers a unique glimpse of the site in that moment — and, like the fixed-point footage in our interactive map, we plan to return to the same location in future years to document the transformation as nature reclaims and reshapes the landscape.
Interactive digital map
This wonderful interactive map allows you to explore our site at the click of a mouse.
As you explore the map, you can click on icons across the landscape to view video clips, photographic stills, and in some spots, even enjoy a 360° view you can navigate with your mouse. To help with your virtual exploration, we have written instructions below for getting the most out of the digital map.

There’s also a mapped circular walk you can follow digitally, complete with on-the-ground footage that makes it feel like you’re really there. This allows you to view the land as if you were there traversing it yourself, offering 360° visibility so you can see all the nuances and detail of the land.

How to navigate the interactive map
Click on the map above to open a new website that shows an aerial view of Heal Somerset and the surrounding landscape.

The starting screen may take you to a map of the world - navigate to the UK and hone in on the markers shown there to find Heal Somerset.

You may want to minimise the white menu to the left of the screen - especially if viewing on your phone - as this takes up most of the screen.

The blue circles on the map indicate that there are several photographic points within that area. If you click on one of the circles it will zoom in to show you the individual icons there:
The purple icon with a black triangle in the middle indicates that there is video footage from that point of the land.
Clicking on a white arrowhead icon will show you the photo taken from that point.
The teal pin indicates a panoramic point. Clicking on it will show you 360° footage which you can navigate by holding your mouse button down and dragging across the screen (or using your finger if you're on your phone / tablet).
Taking the circular walking route

Within the interactive map (in the separate website as described above, accessed by clicking on the large image of the map towards the top of this page), the white circle by the farmhouse marks the start of a fully videoed circular walking route. If you click on the white circle, a QR code should appear, which you can scan to start the walk.

Once you enter the walk, you'll have a 360° interactive view. Just click and drag your mouse / finger (on your phone) to look around in any direction. The walk will begin automatically, and you'll be taken on a loop around our Southern Fields.

To move more quickly along the route, scroll further along the white progress bar at the bottom.
